Nardarchy Interview
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Nerdarchy’s Ryan Friant in my studio and talking about Evil Inc, the recent upheaval in the “webcomics business model,” and my history in comics. It’s an excellent video — with lots of shots of comics and books thrown in so you don’t have to look at my boring face the entire time. This is the first in their new interview series, and — if they’re all produced as well as this — I think the series is going to be a huge success.

Thanks for your understanding as I put the site on auto-pilot last week. My family did something that we’ve never attempted before — a massive family vacation that included almost the entire Guigar family — my parents, my brothers and their families and us. We rented a beautiful cottage on Lake Michigan and spent the days sight-seeing and the evenings relaxing, grilling, drinking and laughing… a lot.
Since your support was a big part of enabling me to take this trip, I wanted to share a few vacation photos with you. We rented the house through VacationRentals.com, and I couldn’t endorse property manager Tonya Yoder strongly enough. The house was phenomenal.

One day, we took the ferry to visit Mackinac Island, and we biked the entire perimeter — 8.2 miles of Wow. We earned our fudge that day.
We visited Tahquamenon Falls, and then pushed ahead to Munising, Mich., to take a glass-bottom-boat tour of lake Superior shipwrecks.

Longtime readers will recognize the name “Keagan.” The Greystone Inn character was named after my nephew when he was about 5. Thats him the the middle. Incidentally, he taught me more last week about Pokémon GO that I was able to learn for myself in a month.
My brothers and my dad playing euchre… making it an official trip to Michigan. That jerk sitting across from me? He won $1600 stopping at a casino on the way home. The jerk sitting to my right? You saw him at my table at Chicago Comic Con last year. Ladies, he’s single. Form an orderly line…
This little fella was the center of attention for most of the week. At a year-and-a-half, you can tell the little stinker is smart as a whip. I’m pretty sure I’m his favorite uncle.
